To bring a civil litigation suit in Alaska, you must file a complaint within the applicable statute of limitations. For example, a medical malpractice claim must generally be filed within two years of the incident, which gives rise to the claim and a personal injury suit must be filed within two years of the date of injury. Exceptions to the general time limit prescribed in the statute of limitations may apply, resulting in a longer filing period.
